Hello High Drag Listeners! We’re back on schedule with episode 87 of the High Drag Podcast. With Eve Vegas looming on the horizon, and the recent acquisition of CCP by Pearl Abyss, we delve into the feelings of optimism and pessimism swirling around this game that we love.
Springtime is here, and with the new season comes a new server wide event: “The Hunt”. This event has something for everyone in the game, except miners (sorry), but everyone else can have fun in one way or another, hunting the Guristas.
Murphy put a kibosh on our Panel’s plans to record on Friday – So in true military fashion, I called the more local cavalry over to my house to have a few drinks. One thing led to another, and before we knew it, I was telling (and recording) the history of how The High Drag Podcast came to be. This is an unconventional episode – as our normal format was thrown right outside of the window. Based on the reaction to this show – if that reaction is positive – we’ll either do a spinoff podcast or add “Drunk Eve History” as a segment to High Drag. If you’ve read this far – good on you – and you still don’t know what we are trying to do – go here.
Let’s not lose sight of what Eve Online is – a massive, evolving game where time spent engaged is measured in years. For some, the streak of continuous play time exceeds a decade, while others, not so much. This episode is for those – like me – that take frequent sabbaticals from New Eden and often feel lost when we attempt a triumphant return. The User Interface changes, ship fittings that once worked are suddenly broken, and the meta game shifts are unrecognizable. Even further, the people in a familiar corporation have moved on, and those POCOs that were a reliable source of passive income are suddenly taxation hell. In episode 80, we work through the mire of change and make the transition back into game a little less complex. Welcome back to Eve, and welcome back to the High Drag Eve Online Podcast!
In typical times, we would be experiencing a post Fanfest drought of information, while simultaneously coming down off of our hype “High”. But these are not typical times. Thanks to the release of the Citadels, as well as a clear road map as to whats coming further down the road, we can enjoy an endless supply of content (Both in game, and in the meta).
In this episode we discuss:
The o7 Show
Daily Opportunities (And the skill points associated with them)
Rhea is here! With a new release comes the ups and downs…wait… there are no downs with Rhea. In this episode we have prominent members of the community join the cast to discuss using Eve to battle the scourge of P.T.S.D (post traumatic stress disorder). In addition, we cover the Rhea expansion, ISboxer, Ashterothi forms a cult, Randoms Bowhead, Fintarues defense of the Lowsec Meta, Mike Azariahs hot drop, and Kyles embracing of all things Nullsec.
Our panel is rounded out with the following upstanding citizens:
Random McNally, Kyle Yanowski, Ashterothi, Fintarue, Shadowandlight, J Mcclain, Mike Azariah
It couldn’t be a better time to be a part of the Eve Online Community, things are just that good.
In this episode: our cast of misfits look in depth at the upcoming Rhea release and the good times that are being had in game, right now, this very second. Fintarue tells us why we need to fly an interdictor in Lowsec, Protovarious is working on a new project, Random sells a Charon, and Kyle joins the nights watch, deep in the heart of bat country (Stain).
